Bruce Willis: More Than Just an Action Hero

Everyone who mocked Bruce Willis for passing on Expendables 3, prepare to eat your words. While it may have appeared he simply wanted more money, the truth is that he's just getting tired of action movies.

"Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job," Willis said. "When you have seen a few fireballs, its not exciting anymore."

If you read about Willis wanting $4 million for his four-day stint on Expendables 3, then you're probably aware of the love-love relationship I have with Bruce Willis. It basically goes like this: I love Bruce Willis, I love his movies, and I love anything he says—even if it's crap (Remember this interview?).

But it's almost like he's testing my love. You can't diss the entire genre of action movies—and their fans, Bruce Willis. Let's not forget about Die Hard—the movie that made you into a movie star—and the four action-packed sequels that no one asked for. Did I enjoy them? Of course. Especially the explosions. This is a problem I've never heard an actor complain of before.

"Well, I like your script, but there's just too much action in it. I would like to be the badass protagonist who goes out and saves the world—but with fewer explosions and more dialogue," said no one ever. Except Bruce Willis.

You know what would have made this picture better? If they hadn't been holding guns.
