Confirmed: Next Battlefield Will Be about the Police

EA has opened a website for the next Battlefield, confirming earlier rumors that it would be ditching the military angle to focus on the police. It'll be called Battlefield: Hardline, and as previous reports indicated, will be developed by Visceral instead of DICE. A more official unveiling will go down on June 9 at E3 at noon PT.

So far, none of the previously rumored information outside of the title of the game has been confirmed. However, according to those earlier reports, Hardline will be released later this year, and will likely be headed to the PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The multiplayer will feature four player classes: Enforcer, Mechanic, Professional and Operator; and modes called Blood Money, Bomb Squad and Carrier Assault.

On an unrelated note, is it just me or does the Hardline teaser image look a lot like Counter-Strike's promo images?

I guess blue and orange just go really well with the police.
