Channel Surfer: Rapid Fire! 3 Quick Channel Surfer Reviews!

So as you might have guessed, Channel Surfer requires a large amount of Television intake. However, not all shows hold enough content to warrant a review proper. But when has that ever stopped this column! Here are three quickie reviews for your possibly favorite TV shows: Shorties Watchin’ Shorties, Perfect Hair Forever, and Betty Boop Cartoons.

Shorties Watchin’ Shorties

Episodes: 13, Year: 2004

Shorties Watchin Shorties animated Stand-Up comedian routines in flash animation. I know, very 2004. At the time, this seemed like a very clever and fun idea. Then Youtube happened, and most people found it more fun to cut up movies and games than comedy speeches. Overall, if you’re a fan of stand-up and don’t mind a few dated references here and there, this is worth a look at. But it won’t stand up to repeat viewings.

Perfect Hair Forever

Episodes: 8, Year: 2005

Perfect Hair Forever is about a young anime boy traveling to a mountain to get better hair. However, this being a William’s Street production, a whole lot of nonsense happens along the way. The animation is cheap (I’m talking MS Paint), the plot is random, and the jokes are relatively weak. Not Adult Swim’s best work. That being said, it does have a talking tree and half naked anime girl. So check it out.

Betty Boop Cartoons

Episodes: A Lot, Year: The 1930’s

Out of curiosity and boredom, I sat down and watched as many Betty Boop cartoons as I could. It helped kill many a silent mornings. Barring a few extremely racist moments, Betty Boop actually holds up. It has that funny always-in-motion animation, where everything and anything must keep bouncing along to the music, or die! Betty’s a flapper who takes on various jobs and positions, and is surprisingly sexy and modern for a cartoon made in the 30’s. I’m still a bit confused as to who the audience was supposed to be, kids or their dads? But if you have a moment, take a look for yourself. This is my personal favorite moment.
